These modules are designed for broadcast and narrowcase applications involving traditional analog video, as well as QAM-modulated digital signals. The modules can operate as stand-alone units, or can be controlled by Vale System's easy-to-use network management software which can be installed on any PC or laptop.

VL-CH - 3U Chassis

VL-CH - 3U Chassis

The VL-CH is a standard 19-inch wide rackmount chassis. The chassis is 3 rack units high and has 17 slots to accomodate all modules. A back plane interface can provide inter-module communication and power distribution.

VL-PS - Power Supply Module

The VL-PS power supply module is designed to provide stable power for all modules in the chassis. Two VL-PS modules can be used in a single VLlink platform for power redundancy with built-in power sharing circuitry. The auto-recovery short circuit protection function of the power supply enhances the reliability of the platform. On the front panel, the LEDs indicate module status and DC voltage output status. The VL-PS also provides a 24VDC test point for testing output voltage.

VL-FTX 1310 - Forward Transmitter Module

The VL-FTX series is a high performance 1310nm DFB laser transmitter module ideal for broadcast and narrowcast applications for optical transport. The modules are designed to operate over a wide range of optical output powers and loss budgets to deliver both analog and digital signals. High performance, advanced pre-distortion circuitry achieves superior CSO and CTB. All module parameters can be monitored by LED indicators on the front panel of the module, or by using the VL-EMS network management module. The VL-FTX module operates in either AGC or MGC mode. These modes can be configured by using the front panel user interface.

VL-FTX 1550 - Forward Transmitter Module

The VL-FTX-1550 series is a family of high performance 1550nm QAM transmitter. This 1550nm directly modulated transmitter is an ideal replacement for high cost externally modulated units for CATV broadcast applications of up to 20km. All module parameters can be monitored by LED indicators on the front panel of the module, or by using the VL-EMS status management module. This 1550nm transmitter is an integral part of Vale’s high density VLINK 3RU Headend system developed to support and enhance the deployment of traditional HFC, passive HFC, as well as fiber to the home (FTTH) networks.

VL-RRX-02 - Return Receiver Module

The VL-RRX-02 is a CATV Return Path Receiver Module with four optical inputs. The module has a low noise PIN diode with a high output level RF amplifier. The module features two independent RF output ports, which are located on the rear panel of the receiver module, providing up to 56dBmV output levels. Monitoring and configuration setting of the receiver module are all achieved via the RS-485 interface on the front panel or via the VL-EMS status management module.

VL-RRX-04 - Return Receiver Module

The VL-RRX-04 is a quad return path receiver module. The module has a low noise PIN diode with a high output level RF amplifier. The module features four independent RF output ports, which are located on the rear panel of the receiver module, providing up to 45dBmV output levels. Monitoring and configuration control of the receiver module are all achieved through the RS-485 interface and the VL-EMS network management module.

VL-EMS - Network Management Module

The VL-EMS system management module is mounted in the first slot of Vlink platform to provide local monitoring and configuration plus remote management. The VL-EMS module is able to communicate with the rest of the modules via USB port for local access or RJ45 Ethernet port for remote access. The VL-EMS module provides an NMCP (Network Management Console Program) for monitoring and configuration along with a PC compatible graphical user interface (GUI). The VL-EMS integrates the SNMP protocol and the SCTE-HMS-MIBs for remote access via standard SNMP agent.

VL-EDFA - Fiber Amplifier Module

VL-EDFA is a 1550nm high performance Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier module designed as an integral part of Vale’s high density VLINK 3RU Headend system. With a highly reliable single or double 980nm Pump Laser, low noise figure, and a wide range of optical output powers (14dBm to 23dBm) this EDFA module is an ideal solution for both analog and digital signal transmission. The MCU circuit fully monitors the status and controls the parameters via remote communications. All these can be achieve either locally through the front panel LED, on the EDFA module or remotely with software .
